Keep a dune observation journal

Observe from a marked public path. Sketch the dune outline and note wind direction, shadows and visible plants. Record the date and viewpoint so a later visit can be compared from the same place.

Stay behind barriers and follow posted access rules. Vegetation helps hold sand in place, so avoid shortcuts across planted areas. Take photographs rather than collecting plants or sand.
